THIS ITEM IS ALREADY IN THE US AND WILL SHIP IMMEDIATELY AFTER PURCHASE. This little French trinket box is so lovely! It stands of three cabriol legs and appears to be silver plate. There are no stamps on it, so I doubt it is solid silver, but it has tarnished to the golden-brown color of antique silver. The metal has been cast in a shell pattern that is highly detailed in relief that features motifs of tiny flowers and vines. In the center of the lid, there is a glass window beneath which is the silvered image of a mother embracing her young daughter. Judging by their clothes and hairstyles, I would date the image to circa 1880-1890. The interior of the box contains its original dark emerald silk lining. The box measures 3 1/4" wide from side to side and 3" from front to back. It stands 2" tall. It would be lovely to display with your dolls or as a lovely dresser accessory for you. It will be shipped double boxed.
