A beautiful white porcelain platter with hand painted Dresden floral sprays in assorted colors, a scattering of gold roses and heavy gold gilt scrolled edging. The inside walls of the serving plate bear an impressed scroll and basket weave pattern.
Manufactured by the Reichenbach Porcelain Factory located in Thuringia, German Democratic Republic. GDR (East Germany) was established in 1949 and ended in 1990. The platter dates to the 1960’s.
Back marked with 'R' with crown above and laurel wreath around and, "fine china, Made in GDR”, in black below. Signed with gold painted artist initials.
Measures 12-3/4 inches across.
Excellent to mint condition with no damage to porcelain and no loss to painted floral design or gold gilt.
