A remarkable colored creamer pitcher modeled in the form of a rooster with a curled tail handle and spout that pours from his comb. Dating to the late 1880's to early 1900's. Attributed to one of the Royal Porcelain factories of Germany.
It measures 8 inches long from spout to handle edge and stands 4 3/4 inches to top of handle. Marked, "GERMANY" in an oxblood red on the base. A difficult to see number 9389 is incised as well. Precise maker unknown.
Condition is excellent. There are no chips, cracks, repairs, etc. The cold painted colors are beautiful. It has only the very slightest paint wear at two small spots. Dust in the nooks and crannies of the feathered body.
The piece is simply beautiful.
