This large vintage brooch is dazzling from every angle. By Nolan Miller, the American haute coutre designer, it features substantial facet cut, prong set crystal rhinestones. Marquis, emerald, round and square cut stones are stacked for great depth. The brooch base is rhodium plated and closes with a rolling lock pin clasp.
Of substantial weight, it was clearly designed for wearing on a jacket or coat. Dates to the very early 1970’s but as pristine as the day it was made. Back signed, “NOLAN MILLER”.
Measures 2-1/2 inches across, point to point.
The brooch is in mint, as new condition. Every stone is brilliant and the design and craftsmanship, exemplary.
HISTORIQUE: Nolan Miller – known American designer. He was born in 1935 in Texas. In 1957, Nolan Miller patented his brand in Beverly Hills and began to create images for the film stars of the time, designing costumes and luxury jewelry. In the series “Dynasty” (1980s primetime soap that followed the lives of two of America's wealthiest families), Miller served as the principal costume designer (including jewelry), and at the same time, a trendsetter. In the early 90th the project Dynasty was closed, but the work of Nolan Miller was not over.
Elizabeth Taylor, Jacqueline Smith, Loretta Young, Eva Garbor, Natalie Wood, Joan Crawford, Lucile Ball, Jaclyn Smith, Linda Evans, Sophia Loren, and Joan Collins – only a short list of the names of his clients. Nolan Miller also became famous as the private couturier in Beverly Hills.
