A beautiful vintage 1950’s handcrafted sterling silver bracelet with green stones. It is a unique piece with a lot of presence. The panel design features six curved panels with detailed silver work, each with an oval shaped, bezel set center stone of mottled greens. Finely crafted with beautiful detail. Links are hinged with hand wrought bar hinges.

The bracelet is back marked, “…………. MEXICO”, (either ‘MADE IN’ or ‘HENCHO EN’ before MEXICO, but difficult to discern). It has an early ‘older style’ eagle mark (1948-ca.1955). Also marked, "925" at clasp. The entire bracelet foundation is sterling silver with a box clasp.

Measure 6-1/2 inches long. Each panel is 1 inch long x 7/8 inches wide.

Excellent condition. The silver has a soft warm patina. All stones are original with no chips or cracks. The curved panel design ensures that the bracelet fits smoothly. Clasp closes securely.

HISTORIQUE: From the 1930’s through the 1950s, artist colonies arose in Mexico producing enormously influential silver jewelry. This is viewed as the artistic silver renaissance movement of the mid-twentieth century. Because of the availability of fine quality silver and trained silver maestros Mexico left a treasure of fine vintage pieces that are highly valued by collectors today.

In the late 1940’s Mexico’s National Syndicate of Silversmiths and the government required sterling silver products to be stamped with the mark of an eagle.
