A big fabulous set of SARAH COVENTRY clip-on earrings and brooch with stunning art glass stones, faux pearls and borealis crystal rhinestones. In an elaborate Maltese Cross motif, the set boasts prong set marbled gold flecked sapphire blue, emerald green, turquoise and orange cabochons. The warm luster of the pearls and the sparkly rhinestones are the extra frosting.
The big brooch is designed to be worn asymmetrically and is convertible to a necklace fob with a bale hook. The art glass stones are prong set.
The back of each piece is hallmarked, "SARAH COV" with the copyright symbol. Made between 1966-69 from a series called `Fantasy'.
The imposing brooch measures just less than 3" corner point to corner point and the earrings are 1 1/2" point to point.
Condition is excellent. All the original stones are present and in perfect condition. The gold tone is also pristine. Each center faux pearl has a tiny spot of worn nacre evident under magnification.
The set is beautiful and shouts vintage jewelry drama.
HISTORY: Sarah Coventry was founded as a sister company to Emmons Jewelry Inc. in 1949. The jewelry was sold through home parties instead of stores hosted by "Fashion Directors" in their own homes.
