Fine and Fabulous Treasures of Old
Historique offers an exquisite collection of eclectic treasures for the discerning buyer.
Pure bliss. An elegant pashmina cashmere silk shawl woven in a beautiful burgundy wine and black, big loopy paisley pattern. Finished with braided tied fringe on each end.
Label reads, “PASHMINA 70% PASHMINA 30% SILK”. Circa 1990s.
Cashmere fiber is very similar to that of the softest sheep wool. However, it is characterized by a lack of lanolin, rendering it hypoallergenic.
Measures a generous 80 inches long (including the 3.5 inch trim on each end) x 27 inches wide.
The wrap is in excellent to mint condition. Never worn.
Warm and soft, draping elegantly, it will make a sleek statement from day to night. Also a beautiful throw on a chair or sofa.
HISTORIQUE: Pashmina refers to a variety of cashmere wool produced from a specific breed of Persian goats. It comes from the word “Pashm”, which in Persia means “wool”. Kashmiri Pashmina is the finest, elegant and delicate fabric made from fine cashmere fiber.
The wool for Pashmina shawls is difficult to procure as it comes from four different breeds of Cashmere goats indigenous to high altitudes of the Himalayan Mountains.
