Vintage Shawnee Little Boy Blue and Bo Peep Salt and Pepper Shakers
A pair of 1940's Shawnee Pottery (Zanesville, Ohio) Bo Peep and Little Boy Blue (sometimes referred to as Sailor Boy) salt and pepper shakers. They are hand decorated under glaze with the original cork stoppers.
Size: Approximately 3 1.2 inches in height, respectively.
Both shakers are in excellent condition with no damage and they are sweet.
History: Shawnee Pottery began in 1937 and took its name and inspiration from the Shawnee Indian Tribe which, at one time, lived in Zanesville, Ohio. The Shawnee Indians were well known for their own pottery. Shawnee Pottery made pottery items such as cookie jars, salt and pepper shakers, planters, vases, and dinnerware. They closed in 1961.
Shawnee Pottery is highly collectible.
