Metlox PoppyTrail California Peach Blossom Celery Dish
I love the modern shape of this elongated Celery Dish in the California Peach Blossom pattern by the PoppyTrail division of Metlox Pottery. It was made in Manhattan Beach, California in 1952.
The pattern is of delicate peach blossoms and buds on brown angular branches with little green leaves. The dish is a soft creamy white.
It measures 12 3/4 inches long, 4 1/2 inches at the widest point and tapering down to 1 1/2 inches at the narrow end. Condition is excellent with two small spots of the leaf green on edge, under glaze. No signs of wear what so ever.
The shape and pattern are great – it is mid-century modern California pottery at its best.
