Stunning set of ice cream spoons, slice and serving spoon from Victor Boivin. Boivin active in Paris in 1897. Among the many remarkable features of this set, is the mixture of colors of the metal. There is silver, rose gold, yellow gold and coppery gold. The handles look enameled, there is so much color! There is some form of blue tint used quite sparingly; but most of diversity of color is entirely due to the mixed metal. But also, a very important ingredient to the enamel look is the incredible diamond cuts of the silver on the handles, and on the service ends of each piece as well.In the handles and portions of the service ends, the 'diamond' cut is very very small, a glittering backdrop to a colorful array of floral decorative elements. Huge 'diamonds' are cut on the service ends of both serving pieces, creating borders that look jewell encrusted. The effect is just spectacular, utterly unique. I am truly not given to the use of superlative adjectives in my descriptions. It usually seems like so much overkill, and indicative of a lack of specificity. But this silver begs for superlatives. And it bears no resemblance to anything I've ever seen referenced as silver with a diamond cut. The set comprised of a slice, serving spoon and 12 spoons; each fitting perfectly in the original box. Condition is very good to excellent. There is a tiny nick on the slice; hard to see, but a photo points it out. The box also in good condition. If you buy it now, I can gift wrap it and get it shipped for a Christmas delivery.

The spoons are 3.25" long, 1.25" at the widest, and weigh 15 grams each. Combined silver weight is over 300 grams; that's 9 troy ounces.
