This is a stunning, rare and very special dessert set for 6, 12 pieces in total. Dating from 1894, Harrison Brothers & Howson produced these magnificent dessert place settings. The handles figures of children in various pastoral garb, atop faux bamboo stalks. The service ends are .925 sterling; simple unadorned forks and knife blades. The silver is fully hallmarked. The Lion Passant, England's .925 sterling silver guarantee, the city mark for Sheffield, the year mark for 1894, and the maker's punch as noted above. The marks are on all silver parts, including the silver collars. The handles also marked: Pd 6595. Condition is excellent. Indeed, the entire set has a good bit of heft to it. Built to last, as it surely has without incident. The figurines are so wonderful, words will not do, and the photos only begin to suggest how lovely this set is.
Dimensions: The knives are 8.5" long, weight is 40 grams. The forks are 7 3/8" long, 35 grams.
