Antique French Enamel & Mother of Pearl Opera Glasses with Jeweled Beading

France, 19th century

These exquisite 19th century French opera glasses are enameled with flowers within blue beaded borders on a dark green ground. The enamel 'jewels' are applied over stamped silver foil. The translucent enamel ground combined with the silver foil accents and raised enamel beading is characteristic of the work of the Sevres enamellists. The opera glasses are faceted with luxurious mother of pearl eyepieces and adjustment gauge.

The elegant French enamel opera glasses are of high quality and are in very good condition. There is no damage to the enamel barrels and no missing jeweled beads.
