Rare Large Fire King Georges Briard Splash Proof Gold Speckled Bowl
Here’s a rare splash proof Fire King mixing bowl. It’s white milk glass covered on the exterior with tiny gold splatters or speckles. From the great designs of Georges Briard, award winning designer of glassware and dishware. His designs were famously sold over the years at Bonwit Teller and Neiman Marcus, as well as many others. He was noted for his gold, gold trim or gold speckled creations, among many. This is the type of bowl that was called Splash Proof, due to its unique and deep yet simple shape.
It measures 9 1/2" diameter and is 6 1/2" tall and is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, utensil marks or stains.
These were originally made between the 1940's and 1970's by Fire King and later by Anchor Hocking for Fire King. Marked Fire King Oven Ware on bottom.
