Pyrex Old Orchard Beaded Edge Nested Mixing Bowl 401
Great bowl from the vintage 1970’s Pyrex nested mixing bowls set with the beaded edge in the Old Orchard Pattern.
This is the 401 - 1.5 pint, the smallest of the set. No chips or cracks, stains or utensil marks, paint is glossy and bright. Only flaws I can find are few small scrapes in paint near rim. (see last pic)
This pattern was designed by artist Estelle Rothstein and debuted in the spring of 1974. It was discontinued late 1977 or early 1978. Bowls of each size in the 400-series nesting bowl set has brown shading at the rim, and patterned bowls alternate with non-patterned bowls. The Old Orchard bowl pattern is interesting because the design imprinted on the bowl is sort of rougher in texture. It looks almost hand drawn and depicts fruits like apples, cherries, grapes peaches and pears along with the leaves from the grapes. Great vintage cookware to use or display in your kitchen. Remember these? Just like Mom’s or Grandma’s.
