Project Universe Chestnut Pinto Five Gaiter Vintage Breyer Horse
Here's a magnificent color variation of #52 Commander Five Gaiter, also called American Saddlebred, which was sculpted by C. Hess, introduced in 1962. He's a matte chestnut and white pinto with a brown and white mane and white tail, narrow blaze and dark eyes. He has a black and gold ribbons braid in his mane. Vintage 1987-89. You can see him on page 86 of the Breyer Animal Collector's Guide Fifth Edition.
He's a beautiful example, in excellent condition with no playwear or obvious flaws. Great addition to your plastic model horse Breyer collection. He reminds me of my Favorite Horse Stories book Harlequin Hullaballo, Bluegrass Champion. A favorite book of mine, back in the day featuring a pinto saddlebred with an unusual coat and a fabulous rack and a great rider, trainer and owner.
