Vintage Harlequin Pottery Sauce Boat Original Spruce Glaze This example in original spruce glaze sauce or gravy boat is a great example of Harlequin in a hard to find original color. Circa 1938-1942. Homer Laughlin began producing Harlequin in the late 30s for the Woolworth five and dime stores. With its sleek art deco lines, the sauce boat, produced in all twelve original glazes, was a welcome and lasting addition to the Harlequin line. The sauce boat features nearly a one pint capacity and measures 3" in height and 8 1/2" in width. It is in excellent vintage condition. Only flaw I can find is a small chip on the edge of the bottom which is not visible when it’s sitting on the table. Bold and daring angular handle with subtle, yet powerful art deco influenced design elements makes this simple sauce boat fabulous. See my other listings for more pieces in this color. Happy to combine to save on shipping.
