MidCentury Markley Design Descoware Belgium Cast Iron Enamel Pot Dutch Oven Casserole
Hard to find Mid-Century Descoware enamel dutch oven! The pot has the coveted Robert Markley design on its bright yellow background. The Markley pattern features cows, chickens, sheep, watermelons, fish, cheese, mushrooms and more illustrated in that classic mid-century style done in white, black and orange-red. The lid is marked FE BELGIUM and the pot is marked 17-B Descoware MADE IN BELGIUM. has Markley signed in the pattern. Interior is white enamel.
Measures 7" diameter (without handles) and 5” tall.
This pot is in very nice vintage condition; some light stains in interior bottom. One tiny chip on edge of lid and a tiny nick on handle. The bottom has one tiny chip near one handle and slight scuffs consistent with contact with stovetop burner. Overall the design is colorful and clear.
Lightly used but not abused.
Descoware was the signature cookware of the famous Julia Child and is known for its high quality and durability. The company originated in Belgium and was imported to the United States from the mid-1940s to the 1970s.
