Vintage Vera Market Baskets of Fresh Fruit Scarf
This pop art vintage Vera design scarf is so much fun! Brimming with baskets of fruit from a farmer’s market all beautifully and colorful and fluidly painted in print! There are ripe strawberries, plums, pears, cherries, apples and gooseberries delicately accented with her typical contour line in black, pink background, white baskets, red pink and green fruits framed with a thin band of pink and a red border. Green edging, hand rolled. Signed in print with her ladybug logo and ©. No label but feels like silk me. A pretty printed textile impression of her interpretation of the fruit like a watercolor. Measures 26 1/2" x 26". Excellent vintage condition. Clean and bright, no flaws I can find.
Mention vintage scarves and the name "Vera" immediately comes to mind. The designer behind the name was Vera Neumann, an artist turned textile designer. I've been a long time fan of her textile designs including her tablecloths. Fun fashion accessory and a little piece of wearable art. Lovely for Spring or Summer. Ships first class for International customers.
