Double Sided Hexagon and Postage Stamp Patchwork Quilt Comfort Two in one! This handsome quilt comfort has one side done in a hexagon pattern called Old Fashioned Wheel or Hexagon Beauty or Spider Web which is listed on page 48 of The Encyclopedia of Pieced Quilt Patterns by Barbara Brackman. The other side has an all-over postage stamp pattern with the tiny blocks set on point. Hand tied with blue and white crochet cotton thread. Batting feels like a smooth wool or flannel. The postage stamp pattern is brought around to finish the edges. I think the fabrics date from the late 19th to early 20th century and include a wonderful assortment including tiny figural prints of a boy and girl playing catch and riders on horseback jumping fences. In excellent condition. Only flaw I can find is one small stain on edge. (see last pic.) Measures 76” x 81 ½”. Bought at an estate sale, I have not washed this. It was well stored.
