Columbia Star Baby's Blocks Quilt Blue and White Here's a wonderful quilt! The pattern is a combination of a six point star surrounded by six big baby's blocks or cubes. It has a fabulous graphic optical art quality. The pattern is called Columbia Star, The Columbia or the Columbian Star. Found in the Washington DC area. These blocks are all machine pieced. The cotton fabrics are solids in very pale blue, white, medium sky blue and soft grayish blue contrasted with a blue on white print of tiny branches of leaves. Great value tonal scale and range. Machine quilted, although there are a few blocks that have white thread hand quilting. Backed with gray blue solid which is brought forward to bind the edges. Batting seems to be a thin white woven fabric, visible through one small hole in back of edge binding. Full size: Measures 70" x 84". There is a bit of sun fading to the blue backing and binding, and one small piece has an iron scorch mark, otherwise in very good condition. Clean and washed and ready to use or display.
