Pioneer Block Log Cabin Pattern Patchwork Quilt Comfort Yellow Backing
What a soft old friend!
This is a wonderful and charming colorful quilt with very bold yet folksy look and a down home feel.
The pattern is composed of contrasting colorful solids with a wide variety of print cotton fabrics including feedsacks, gingham, shirting, calico, floral prints which date from the 1930’s. The backing fabric is a yellow with yellow and orange flowers with brown accents print, which is brought forward to bind the edges on all sides. It’s hand pieced and hand tied with red cotton thread. The batting is medium weight and somewhat puffy cotton with seeds.
It measures 68” x 78”.
Condition is excellent for such an old timer. There’s a little bit of wear to the binding edges here and there, nothing major.
I have carefully hand washed and air dried it.
