1930s Yo Yo Quilt with Applique Skirts and Pillows Set
Very pretty handmade yo yo quilt with a great selection of printed cotton and feedsack fabrics typical of the depression era and a centerpiece flower basket in purple solids. The quilt has muslin skirts on three sides which have been appliqued and embroidered by hand with flowers and butterflies.
There are two matching pillow cases, one is a half circle shape with appliqued ruffle and the smaller one is a rectangle, with pink net ruffle. Both have plain backs with slip openings.
The yoyo top measures 66” by 89” and the skirts or drops are 15” long. The half round pillow measures 25” by 12 “ with a 6” ruffle and the little pillow measures 13” x 17”.
In excellent condition. The fabrics are bright, colors strong, the threads connecting the yoyos are strong and intact. The only flaws I can find are a few tiny mends in the skirts on two long sides. See last pic.
I have carefully hand washed them and air dried outdoors.
Fabulous for your romantic cottage or shabby chic décor!
This is a sensational combination set!
