In the post-war `40s and into the `50s, a decade or so before the French decided to market Le Creuset products in the U.S., a Dutch company had already invaded our shores with heavily enameled cast iron cookware. It was called by the name of Dru of Holland, and it was a hit.
The quality of the cookware was at once obvious, and its colorful enamel of the highest and heaviest quality. It was also pretty, in addition to the blue green with green tulips, light blue decorated with darker blue stylized tulips. Buttery yellow with brown tulips was also available and this is a nice example.
