McCoy Pottery Wishing Well Planter Brown Green and Yellow Ochre Glaze This beautiful Vintage McCoy Pottery Planter is a superb example of Art Pottery from a collectible maker. Made in the 1930's-1940's Era, it is the popular "Wishing Well" piece, done in a gorgeous multi-colored glaze with brown, olive green and yellow ochre. Along each side of the Well, one can see molded flowers. On one side, beneath these flowers, is a bucket with an actual, heavy metal handle. At the top beam of the well, beneath the roof, hangs the old metal chain which extends fully to the bucket handle. The roof has molded "shingles" and the well's base features molded "bricks". Around the opening to the well, beneath the top row of bricks, you see the words, "OH WISHING WELL" with a small star between each word. This phrase continues around the back with "GRANT A WISH TO ME". On the front side there is a horseshoe molded on the wooden post at the side of the well. Stands 6 ½” tall by 8” wide and 4 ½” deep. Marked McCoy in mold on bottom. This wonderful and fun piece is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Interior is clean.
