Stunning 1930’s Czech Peking Glass and Brass Necklace
What a stunning piece this is! A 1930's necklace made in Czechoslovakia with mottled jade green color molded glass beads called Peking Glass and textured brass rings, brass clasp and bale and a heavily embellished brass frame ornate pendant with interior dangle and finished with a large curved arc piece of Peking glass. There are 24 small round beads, 8 double end shaped beads, 14 bigger round beads, some with end caps. In the pendant, one round bead in the dangle, which may have had another at the bottom. All in all 47 beads. Plus the big arc at end. It measures 15" in length, including the pendant. Marked Czechoslovakia on back of pendant near the top. Although it was made in the Art Deco period, it’s design references back to earlier nouveau type. It is in excellent vintage condition.
Its previous owner purchased it at an antique store in Washington DC in 1971 to wear at her wedding.
