This is another doll from the collection I recently bought. This jumeau is just so wonderful. The head is perfect with no chips, cracks or hairlines. The painting is beautiful: feathered eye brows, long eye lashes on both upper and lower lids, strong blush on her cheeks, and parted lips with two tone soft pink coloring. Her ears are perfect with no chips on the earring holes. She has big brown paperweight eyes, also perfect. On the back of her head at the base is the number 1. She has 2 small freckles: one on her chin and one on her left cheek. They are very small and done in the firing called fire backs, a sure sign of being an antique. She still has her original skin wig which is very thin. A new mohair wig has been made for her. Her body is very minty with 8 balls and is made from composition and wood. She has a dent in her rear end in the back as you can see in photos. She is a later Premier as her coloring is high. I have another one the same size but she is much paler. If you look at the Jumeau book by Theimer and Theriault there is a page comparing all the different styles of painting of the Premiers, from early to later. Her only flaw is that her lower arms have been replaced by a professional restorer. The arms are antique, just not Jumeau. Her clothing was custom made for her, some pieces are antique: cotton drawers, full length petticoat, half slip (original to her), green cotton back silk dress, white cap (original to her), and brown canvas shoes and cotton socks(antique). If you need to see more photos, please ask and I will send you more pictures. The doll is just beautiful. She is ready for display and she is a great cabinet size of 11".
