Two Irish Belleek gently curved mint trays in the New Shell Pink pattern. Design shows dual chorus lines of pink lipped shells nestled in a bed of pink seaweed, a hint of iridescence to the glaze overall. Both trays in excellent condition, no chips or cracks, ready for service at the table for serving mints or crackers. Many possibilities for use - to hold potpourri or to display greenery around candles in a table centerpiece; place them in a guest bathroom filled with fancy soaps!
Both are marked with Belleek's 7th mark, which was used between 1980 and 1993. This was the first gold colored mark, made to commemorate the Gold medal won by the company in 1880. Because the mark on the trays looks a bit more tan in hue than gold they were probably produced after 1984. Originally purchased together as a set by the original owner, so the hand applied coloration on the two pieces matches very well.
8 3/4 inches long, 2 inches wide, 2 inches tall and quite elegant. Sold only together as a pair, please.
