Early Steuben Glass Works Verre de Soie glass vase, Ca 1910, Frederick Carder era with etched floral swag and wheel decorations by Thomas Hawkes on Steuben vase shape number 2142. Verre de Soie ('silk glass') was Steuben's white iridescent finish on a colorless base having a silky feeling surface, thus its name. Excellent condition with a couple of bits of tiny impurities and a few small bubbles visible (see pics), no chips or cracks; nice and clean inside with the etched 'Hawkes' signature in the ground pontil.
8 inches tall, 4 1/4 inches across the shoulder and a 3 inch base diameter.
