Antique Sterling Chicago Worlds Fair Spoon - Columbian Exposition White City
This gorgeous antique Victorian era spoon is a souvenir of the 1892 - 1893 Columbian Expo in Chicago, Illinois. The handle reads WORLDS FAIR CHICAGO 1492 (the date here is in honor of when Columbus reached America). The bowl has a detailed architectural design of one of the buildings in White City. The spoon is a small demitasse size and measures almost 3 7/8" long by about 3/4" across the bowl. Signed with the mark of R. WALLACE & SONS which is the initials RW&S with a deer head in front. The weight is about 8 grams. Good antique condition with light age appropriate wear. The sterling has a nice warm patina (tarnish) that we have left untouched. You will treasure this!!!
