Antique Sterling Atlantic City Spoon - Souvenir of New Jersey
This gorgeous antique Victorian or Edwardian era spoon is made of sterling silver and reads STEEL PIER on the handle and ATLANTIC CITY in the bowl. The shows a man pushing a lady in a hat in some kind of chair or rickshaw . The spoon is a teaspoon size and measures about 5 5/8" long by about 1 3/16" across the bowl. It is signed with the initials CB & H which is the mark of CODDING BROS. & HEILBRON and it is also marked STERLING. It has a nice heavy weight of about 30 grams. Atlantic City is famous for its boardwalk and casinos. Steel Pier opened in 1898 as a theater and most recently has become an amusement park. Good antique condition with light age wear including a small ping at the edge of the bowl. It has a nice warm patina (tarnish) and we have not polished it. You will treasure this!!!
