Antique Miner Sterling Mayer Bros Souvenir Spoon - Alaska Gold Rush
This gorgeous antique Victorian era Alaska gold rush spoon is made of sterling silver. It has a detailed full figure figural design of a miner man holding a pan of gold. The miner design is on the front and back of the handle. At the bottom of the miner's feet, it reads LUCKY STRIKE. The bowl has an engraved mountain design and reads MT DEWEY SKAGWAY ALASKA. The spoon measures about 4 1/16" long by almost 1/2" across the miner and about 7/8" across the bowl. It weighs about 16.1 grams. It is signed with a maker's mark of a fleur de lis which is one of the marks of JOSEPH MAYER BROS. and also marked STERLING. Very good antique condition. Great for the mining or Alaska collector! You will treasure this!!!
