Victorian Love Token Silver Enamel Cufflinks or Collar Buttons - Circa 1874
This is an amazing pair of antique estate Victorian era cufflinks or collar buttons! They are made of 900 silver American 1874 United States Seated Liberty quarters (the back closures are a silver colored metal). The tops are engraved and have the superimposed or intertwining initials of MWT MTW TWM TMW WTM or WMT. The letters are enameled in a beautiful blue color. They measure about 15/16” across. The coins are dated 1874 with arrows pointing to the date. The total weight is about 13.3 grams. Good antique condition with light age appropriate wear including some expected surface wear to the enameling and a few tiny chips, and on one of the backs, there is some denting as seen. This is one of those unique one in the world type of items. They have a nice warm patina (tarnish) that we have left untouched. They would highlight or polish up nicely if desired. Good for a man or a lady. You will treasure these!!!
