Antique California Mining Sterling Signed Estate Mayer Bros Souvenir Spoon - Demitasse
This gorgeous Victorian or Edwardian era spoon is made of sterling silver with a California mining theme design probably remembering the California gold rush. It depicts a bear miner on tip of a gold mining pan with nuggets. Behind the pan are a crossed pick axe and a shovel The front of the handle has shamrocks or clover with clover blossoms probably as a symbol of good luck. The spoon is a demitasse size and measures about 4 1/16" long by about 7/8" across the bowl. It weighs about 15.8 grams. It is signed with the early fleur de lis mark of JOSEPH MAYER BROTHERS and also marked STERLING. Very good antique condition with light age appropriate wear and we have not polished this. You will treasure this!!!
