Antique Sterling Cliff House SF Indian Mining Spoon
What a gorgeous antique Victorian or Edwardian era spoon! It is made of sterling silver and has a detailed design in the bowl which reads CLIFF HOUSE SAN FRANCISCO. The top of the handle has an Indian head in profile with a gold mining pan and crossed pick axe and shovel. It is a demitasse size and measures about 4 1/16" long by just shy of 7/8" across the bowl. The weight is about 10.2 grams. It is signed with the maker's mark of the initial H in a pennant which according to what I've read is the mark of Mechanics Sterling Co. which was a subsidiary of Watson & Newell Co. and also marked STERLING. Good antique condition with light age appropriate wear. Perfect for the California collector! You will treasure this!!!
