800 Silver & Enamel HEIDELBERG CASTLE Souvenir Spoon
What a gorgeous souvenir spoon! It is made of 800 silver (by way of comparison, 925 is sterling silver). The bowl has a beautiful enameled scene of Heidelberg Castle ruins in Germany and reads Schloss. The sky in the bowl is done in pale blue and very pale pink colors - the color of the sky looks darker in the photo than in person. The handle is guilloche enameled in silvery white with blue and a rampant lion design done in yellow, red, green and black colors. It is a demitasse sized spoon and measures about 3 3/4" long by 5/8" across the bowl. It is signed with the initials KFK and is also marked 800 for silver content. We would estimate this was made from the antique Edwardian era to vintage Art Deco era. Good condition with a little enamel loss to the bottom edge of the bowl and at the bottom of the enamel on the handle as shown in the enlarged photos. You will treasure this!!!
