Antique 1899 Gorham Sterling & Enamel Oakland Estate Spoon
This gorgeous Victorian era souvenir spoon is made of sterling silver and is hand engraved OAKLAND with an oak tree. The top of the handle has beautiful forget me not flowers that are enameled in blue with green leaves. The spoon is a demitasse size and measures about 3 5/8" long by 11/16" across the bowl. The weight is about 5.9 grams. The back of the handle is engraved with the date 10-27-99 - just a few days before the last Halloween before the turn of last century. Signed with the hallmarks of a lion, anchor and fancy initial G of GORHAM, also marked STERLING and numbered 808 H. Good antique condition with a little expected loss to the enamel - nothing that detracts. It has a nice warm uneven patina (tarnish) that we have left untouched. What a great find for the California collector. You will treasure this!!!
