Antique Lewis & Clark Exposition Signed Sterling Souvenir Spoon
This gorgeous antique Edwardian era World's Fair spoon is made of sterling silver with a very detailed design. The bowl reads LEWIS & CLARK CENTENNIAL EXPOSITION - WESTWARD HO - WESTWARD THE COURSE OF THE EMPIRE TAKES ITS WAY - PORTLAND OREGON 1905. The spoon measures about 4 1/8" long by slightly over 13/16" across the bowl. It is signed with the maker's mark of the initial H in a pennant which according to what I've read is the mark of Mechanics Sterling Co. which was a subsidiary of Watson & Newell Co. and also marked STERLING. So much fun stuff on this spoon. Here are some of the things that can be seen - a train, a fish, Mt. Hood, Multnamah Falls, a ship, sunrise and flowers. Good antique condition. You will love this!!!
