This gorgeous estate spoon is made of sterling silver and the front reads SAN FRANCISCO and has the date 1940. The fair opened on Treasure Island on February 18, 1938 and went through November, then it re-opened in 1940 from May through September. The front of the handle has the main tower, the Golden Gate Bridge and the Cable Cars. The back shows the Elephant Towers and reads GOLDEN GATE INTERNATIONAL EXPOSITION and also PACIFICA in smaller letters. The spoon measures about 4 3/16" long by about 7/8" across the bowl. It is marked STERLING. Very good vintage condition and we haven't polished it. Weight is about 9.6 grams. Please see the other San Francisco California spoons we are offering now.
