Antique Sterling & Enamel CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS SHIP Souvenir Spoon
This gorgeous antique Victorian era spoon is made of sterling silver. The twist handle has an enameled flag at the top which shows a maltese cross along with the initial F for King Fernando and Y for Queen Ysabel. The bowl has a detailed design of a ship with the date 1492 which is the year Columbus sailed to the New World. The spoon is a demitasse size and measures about 3 15/16" long by 3/4" across the bowl. The weight is about 6.5 grams. Marked STERLING. The enamel has lines seen on close viewing as seen in the enlarged photo, otherwise, good antique condition with a very deep uneven patina (tarnish) as seen. Perfect for stirring that little cup of coffee or for just adding a dash of sugar to something. You will treasure this!!!
