Gorgeous JENNY WADE HOUSE Vintage Sash Pin Brooch – Old Pennsylvania
This gorgeous antique sash pin brooch is done in a silver colored metal with a ornate border that has a shield shape in the center. The shield has a house design that reads “JENNY WADE HOUSE – GETTYSBURG, PA. Jennie Wade, was the only civilian killed during the Civil War Battle of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania on July 3, 1863. She was killed while baking bread for the soldiers when she was struck by a bullet that went through the doors of the house. Brooch measures about 2 1/8” by 1 5/8”. Good condition with light age wear and darkening to the metalwork. Brooch has original c catch and pin stem. Brooch is circa early 1900’s. Great find for the civil war collector! You will love it!
