Antique Sterling PORTLAND OREGON Estate Souvenir Spoon - Signed Mayer Bros
This gorgeous antique spoon is made of sterling silver and has a detailed design on the handle. At the top, it reads CITY OF PORTLAND 1851 (probably the year Portland was established), then COURT HOUSE . It is engraved PORTLAND in the bowl. On the back of the handle is a rose, and the FISH WHEEL and boats in the water at the bottom. It is signed - but the signature was not marked well - it is a partial mark of Joseph Mayer Bros. which is the initials MB with a miner's pick axe and shovel. It is also marked STERLING. It is a demitasse sized spoon and measures about 3 7/8" long by about 3/4" across the bowl. It weighs about7 grams. Very good antique condition with a nice warm patina (tarnish) that we have left untouched. You will treasure this!!!
