Antique Art Nouveau 830 Silver Danish Skønvirke Serving Spoon - Signed Christian F Heise of Denmark
What a gorgeous and very special antique Scandinavian serving spoon! It is made of 830 silver (by comparison, 925 is sterling silver). It has the most beautiful design that shows both Art Nouveau and Arts & Crafts influences. Skønvirke was the Danish aesthetic movement. I have read that Skønvirke translates as "beautiful work" and this spoon certainly qualifies. The spoon measures about 7 1/2" long by 1 3/8" across the bowl. The weight is about 35.9 grams. The back of the spoon is monogrammed with the engraved name Oliver and the date 1914. It is signed with the maker's mark of CHRISTIAN F. HEISE which is the initials CFH and it has the Copenhagen Three Towers mark which is for a minimum silver purity of 826/1000. It is also marked G. KOLLING. Good antique condition with light age appropriate wear. We have not polished this and it has a light uneven patina (tarnish) as seen. Please feel free to email us with any questions you may have. You will treasure this!!!
