Antique Sterling & Enamel Cabot Tower Estate Spoon - Souvenir of Canada
This gorgoeus antique Canadian souvenir spoon is made of sterling silver and guilloche enameled in colors of cobalt blue, light blue, rust red, light yellow and silvery white on the top of the handle. The bowl has a lot of nice detail and reads CABOT TOWER SIGNAL HILL ST. JOHN'S N'FLD - ERECTED IN HONOR OF CABOT. The building of Cabot Tower of Newfoundland was started in 1898 and finished in 1900. It was erected in honor of Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee and also in honor of the 400th anniversary of John Cabot's voyage to the New World. The spoon is a demitasse size and measures slightly over 3 3/4" long by 13/16" across the bowl. The weight is about 16 grams. Good antique condition with light age appropriate wear. The enamel is in good condition. You will treasure this!!!
