This is a rare bolo tie by Hector Aguilar in 940 silver (purer than sterling). Featuring a small medallion that has an applied initial "C" and quite nice tips, the medallion and tips are on a worn brown leather braided tie. Hard to find!
Hector Aguilar began working for William Spratling in 1936 before opening his own workshop in 1939. Aguilar had many, many well known craftsmen working for him during the years and he was also involved in many innovative Taxco ventures. Penny Morrill has dedicated a whole book to Aguilar and the Taller Borda called Silver Masters of Mexico. Aguilar's work is highly desired.
