I am pleased to offer this rare sterling silver pin, in the form of a Modernist cat, by Phyllis Sklar. The head is purposefully oxidized to contrast with the shiny body and the pin closes with a well working safety clasp. A rarity!
Phyllis Sklar was a New York City-based Modernist artist known for her paintings, drawings and jewelry. Phyllis and her husband, Izzy Sklar, a noted artist and musician, later re-located to Provincetown, Massachusetts, where they became local treasures. Phyllis passed away in 2010 and Izzy in 2012.
