This is a very nice and quite beautiful sterling silver and amethyst bracelet by Taxco artisan, Miguel Melendez. The bracelet has an unusual, interlocking design with each link set with a lovely faceted stone. The bracelet closes with a well working slide in clasp and has the additional security of a safety chain. Stunning!
Melendez was very lucky to begin his career working as an apprentice to the master, William Spratling. In 1940, he joined Los Castillo and worked there for many years before moving to the wonderful taller run by Margot de Taxco. This beautiful object shows the quality of workmanship that is evident through what Melendez learned at the feet of the masters!
