I am pleased to offer this fabulous 940 silver bracelet by Hector Aguilar of Taxco, Mexico. 940 silver is purer than sterling and often used by the most admired silversmiths in Taxco including William Spratling and Aguilar. The design is that of a leaf motif, each of the links being bordered by thick chain and closing with a slide in clasp. A wonderful bracelet and a classic design, immediately recognizable as Hector Aguilar.
Hector Aguilar began working for William Spratling in 1936 before opening his own workshop in 1939. Aguilar had many, many well known craftsmen working for him during the years and he was also involved in many innovative Taxco ventures. Penny Morrill has dedicated a whole book to Aguilar and the Taller Borda called Silver Masters of Mexico. Aguilar's work is highly desired.
