Exquisite antique jewelled enamelled footed tiny box. This circular miniature has a lid decorated with 10 blue rhinestones beads, circular row of faux pearls and a center enamel piece in blue turquoise color with a rose and leaves motif in rose,fuchsia and leaves colours. The lid has a handle attached with a minuscule screw. The material -brass,bronze? - looks painted in cream white and lets you see a gilded tint underneath, possibly the natural color of bronze.A lot of tiny golden circles inside lid.The metal is totally worked in relief with scalloped designs. The bottom has the the embossed motif of the "Prussia eagle" with the letters FR emblazoned on its breast. The Prussian Eagle (also known as the Hawk) is the cap badge of The King's Royal Hussars. It is the insignia of the Royal House of Prussia and was awarded to the 14th Light Dragoons in 1798 by the Crown Princess Frederica of Prussia. The award was a mark of Royal favour, after the 14th had escorted her from Dover to London prior to her marriage to the Duke of York. The box measures approx. 1,5” (4 cm) without the handle piece and 5/8” (1,5 cm) high. Very good condition. Great addition to the item collector.
