Stunning Rare Antique French Faience by Paul Hannong of Strasbourg & Frankenthal circa 1744, front panel of country setting picnic with farmers, a baby and children with cottages and a church in background and side panels of a young man & young girl.. , framed in 24K.gold with side columns of raised pink shell or floral designs with inverted designs on columns , with a center motif of sculptured leaves in April-green paint with rose colored center.. Extremely well-drawn/painted with the loveliest shimmering glaze that sparkled like glass... Has had professional restoration; removable of old ancient staples that possibly could have damaged the porcelain / faience.. No over painting restorations. By the quality of the paintings, the fine 24K gold, we believe this to be a very early work of Paul Hannong..,signed on base, whose father Charles - Francois began the factory in 1709.
