Very Lovely Antique 18th century French Faience by Veuve Perrin in a Rococo - Shell motif domed case with a heavy-weight pewter or silver hinge with a rounded clasp that closes perfectly as does the hinge. Lovely, delicate flowers surround the undulating sides with the Girl in long-flowing blue dress with red jacket, wearing a hat, hair tie in ribbons as her faithful dog rests at her side.. with black birds soaring in the sky above..very beautiful colours.. measures 3 1/2" x 2 1/2' x 1 1/4". Even the interior is 'scalloped' on lid! very good condition..glaze perfect. A French antique dealer said that the metal mounts of Veuve Perrin are called "gent" .. Gent is 950 Sterling silver with 5% of copper or other metals. VP signed in black is the oldest mark for Veuve Perrin
